Database objects filtering

From default Include all to use of Regular expressions - there are multiple ways to include database objects:

  • Include all - includes all objects. Object selection not allowed. New objects included automatically
  • Include only selected - includes selected objects only. New objects not included automatically.
  • Exclude all - excludes all objects. Object selection not allowed. New objects not included
  • Exclude unselected only - includes all objects except not selected. New objects included automatically
  • Include using regular expression - (advanced) - write regular expression on how objects should be included. Object selection not allowed.
  • Exclude using regular expression - (advanced) - write regular expression on how objects should be included. Object selection not allowed.

Regular expression examples

A regular expression is being tested against a fully qualified object name with brackets, e.g. [dbo].[tableA], therefore special regular expression symbols (such as [, ., _, etc.) should be escaped.

The included/excluded tables will update automatically depending on the regular expression.

Examples

All tables that contain Sales:

  • Include using regular expression
  • Regular expression: Sales

All tables that do not contain Sales:

  • Exclude using regular expression
  • Regular expression: Sales

Tables that start with Sales:

  • Include using regular expression
  • Regular expression: ^\[dbo\]\.\[Sales.*\]$

Tables TableA or TableB:

  • Include using regular expression
  • Regular expression: ^\[dbo\]\.\[TableA\]|\[dbo\]\.\[TableB\]$
